Announcing Dual Membership Release 10/16/2023

    October 16, 2023

    Dear Esteemed NoCoHRA Members,

We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you! Northern Colorado Human Resources Association (NoCoHRA) is joining forces with SHRM National (SHRM) to launch the Dual Membership Release (DMR) program on December 11, 2023. This strategic business decision will bring numerous benefits to our Chapter and its members.

Here's why we're excited about this collaboration:

    • Stronger Alignment with SHRM: By participating in the DMR program, we are reinforcing our close affiliation with SHRM. With 70% of our members already SHRM members, this move allows us to deepen our connection and enhance our offerings.

    • Expanded Networking Opportunities: You will have access to a vast network of HR professionals, both locally and globally, to connect with peers, experts, and thought leaders in the industry.

    • Professional Development: As we anticipate an increase in both our membership and SHRM support, we can deliver more locally relevant programs and resources for you, our valued members. SHRM offers a wide range of resources, including webinars, conferences, and certification programs. This partnership gives you access to these invalvuable tools to help you grow in your HR career.

    • Up-to-Date HR Insights: Stay informed with the latest HR trends, legislative updates, and best practices through SHRM's extensive research and publications, as well as through attending local chapter events. Furthermore, SHRM provides a wealth of resources tailored to your specific HR needs, helping you address challenges in your organization more effectively.

    • Exclusive Discounts: As part of this program, you will benefit from special discounts on SHRM events, publications, and certification exams. Additionally, as a Colorado SHRM chapter member, you continue to enjoy attending any Colorado chapter event at the member rate.

    • Streamlined Membership Renewal: The DMR program simplifies the membership renewal process. You will no longer need to pay separate Chapter membership dues directly to the Chapter. Instead, you'll renew both your NoCoHRA and SHRM memberships in one single transaction, managed by SHRM's robust systems. We'll provide more details on how this affects you in the coming weeks. As a bonus, those already enjoying the benefits of dual membership will appreciate fewer messages about renewing both your local and national memberships!

    • In today's rapidly evolving HR landscape, we recognize the importance of balance and harmony, especially when facing new challenges. By partnering with SHRM, we aim to deliver a synergistic approach that benefits you, our members, and the Chapter as a whole. We understand that this change might be new for some members who are not current SHRM members. Rest assured, we are here to assist you through this transition.

Becoming a DMR Chapter comes with various advantages, including allowing our members to enjoy the benefits and resources of both our local association and SHRM, enhancing your professional development and networking opportunities in the HR field. We will share more information about the program in the weeks leading up to our December 11 launch date. In the meantime, please visit our website at any time for updates, and don't hesitate to reach out with any questions by emailing NCHRAssociation@gmail.com.

Thank you for your continued support and commitment to our association. Together, we will continue to elevate the HR profession.

    Warm regards,

    Lisa Austin

    NoCoHRA President
