    Senior Human Resources Business Partner (SR HRBP)

     Description The SR HRBP team provides HR leadership, expertise and guidance, and promotes and supports a collaborative team environment, informed by the CSU Principles of Community. Acting as a trusted advisor, they provide strategic guidance to leadership to ensure alignment of HR strategies and initiatives with organizational objectives. This individual assists in the mentoring of campus HR partners and liaisons to ensure HR acumen and competency exist at all levels across the University. The SR HRBP will be assigned as primary contact for operational units and/or colleges across the university and will lead campus-wide initiatives. This individual will serve as the labor relations lead for the team. They require a strategic mindset, business acumen and the ability to build strong relationships across the university. Must be able to effectively lead with positive influence rather than by positional authority.
    Essential Duties

    The Senior Human Resources Business Partner (SR HRBP) advises and provides strategic expertise on a broad range of Human Resource matters.This individual collaborates with various university departments and partners directly with leadership to provide professional and advanced HR services. The SR HRBP engages in complex employee relations management, develops and delivers professional development and training opportunities for supervisors, managers and HR personnel, and professionally guides and engages in initiatives such as talent acquisition, investigating workplace concerns, mentoring programs, climate and engagement initiatives, and recognition platforms. They are accountable for administering and supporting policies, procedures and programs that will develop and sustain an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing workforce.

    Provide advice and coaching techniques to managers and supervisors regarding employee relations and employee advocacy through the application of personnel practices, policies and state and federal employment laws

     Develop, deliver, and coordinate organizational development and training services for various departments and individual executive coaching needs Act as a resource and work in partnership with the HR team to ensure HR-related work is aligned with all other HR deliverables Conduct meetings to discuss unresolved issues and explore alternative solutions; recommend a course of action to involved parties

    Skills, Education & Other

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Human Resources, Business, Public Administration or closely related field
    • Five (5) years of professional HR experience in employee or labor relations and performance management
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills while creating and maintaining credibility
    • Experience in building partnerships and influencing cross-functional teams and leaders
    • Ability to take initiative to solve problems in an innovative manner
    • Highest degree of professional ethics and integrity
    • Excellent reasoning, investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills

    Preferred Qualifications: 

    • Higher Education, public sector or large, complex organization Human Resources experience
    • Experience working in a labor relations role, interpreting collective bargaining agreements and advising management on best practices
    • Seven (7)+ years of broad HR experience in large, complex public or private organizations
    • Strong time and project management skills, including prioritization and ability multi-task
    • Demonstrated conflict resolution skills
    • Experience conducting workplace investigations
    • A highly collaborative leadership style with experience building relationships and influence at all levels of the organization
    • Experience in developing and delivering professional development and training opportunities for supervisors, leaders, or human resources personnel

      Salary Range

      Salary Range: $95,000 - $112,500
