    The Presentation

Strong leadership skills help us succeed in business and life—that’s why we devote so much time and money to leadership training. Unfortunately, most of this training is ineffective, even when backed by development plans, microlearning opportunties, or regular reminders, because people can’t learn to be better leaders without deliberate practice.
In this talk, Martin Lanik—an organizational psychologist and CEO of Pinsight®, the leader readiness and improvement platform—introduces a solution to the problem of ineffective leadership training: the Leader Habit Formula, a revolutionary new approach that enables people to become better leaders in just minutes a day.
The Leader Habit Formula is the outcome of a multiyear global study of leadership skills. Through his groundbreaking research, Martin discovered that people who become better leaders do so not by passively learning in a classroom or reading books, but by breaking down leadership skills into chains of smaller behaviors and then practicing each behavior separately until it turns into a habit. As these small behaviors become habits, they combine to form the desired skill. The Leader Habit Formula turns this learning method into a focused, continuous development process based on simple exercises that can be completed in less than five minutes per day. Anyone familiar with Charles Duhigg’s The Power of Habit won’t be surprised by the effectiveness of this fresh approach to leadership development.
